Chinese Immersion
Our Immersion programs develop multilingual globally-minded scholars who are competent in culture, contemporary society, history, and literature.
XinXing @ West is part of a rigorous secondary Chinese track. Designed for students who have completed an elementary Chinese immersion program, our exceptional continuation program develops students' linguistic and cultural proficiency in Chinese through the study of culture, current events, contemporary society, history, and literature.
XinXing eighth-graders have the opportunity to participate in an educational exchange with our partner school in Shanghai, China. XinXing ninth-grade students complete the Advanced Placement (AP) Chinese Language and Culture course and can earn college credits based on the results of the AP exam.
XinXing @ West students will continue their immersion at Hopkins High School where they can earn up to 16 potential college credits. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to intern at local businesses, become involved in the Chinese community, volunteer in XinXing Academy K-6 classrooms, study abroad, participate in Concordia Language Villages programs, and more.
