We understand that sometimes early pick-ups are unavoidable. However, please keep the following in mind:

• Early dismissals disrupt student learning. Please schedule appointments before or after school whenever possible.

• Avoid picking up your student during the last 30 minutes of the school day—this is the busiest and most disruptive time for the school.

• If an early pick-up is necessary, please notify the school in advance. 952-988-4410

All requests for guest/friend bus passes must be pre-approved by the Transportation Department. With increasingly full vehicles, transportation must first ensure there is appropriate room for an extra scholar.

Please request a bus pass from student service secretary, Amber Hampton (952-988-4416; Amber.Hampton@hopkinsschools.org) at least one day before the desired ride. It is NOT guaranteed there will be space on the bus. If it is approved, the Transportation Department will send a bus pass to the school for your child. • 2025-26 HHS Clay Target Team

  The 2025/26 Hopkins High School Clay Target Team has opened its pre registration link for new members. For Spring 2026 only 5 openings are available and will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Any new athlete wishing to participate on the team this season must fill out the pre registration form in order to be considered.

  Membership is open to Hopkins students grades 7-12 who have completed a Hunter/Firearm Safety Course through the MN DNR by March 15, 2026 and meet the criteria listed on the teams web page. Due to the limited number of openings, registration will close on December 1 or when all openings are filled.

• Rising Royals Wrestling Club
  Tuesdays & Thursdays
  December 2-March 5
  
  Grades K-3 meet from 5:45-6:45 p.m.
  Grades 4-6 meet from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
  
  Rising wrestling athletes will develop strength, balance, coordination, and confidence-both on and off the mat with the Rising Royals Wrestling Club. Learn from the Hopkins High School Wrestling Coaches in a supportive environment great for beginners. Participants will need : wrestling shoes, headgear, and mouth guard.

At Hopkins West Middle School, parents are not permitted to bring outside food for their students, and students are not allowed to order food from outside the school during school hours. This policy ensures fairness and consistency for all students, as it prevents disruptions and maintains a focused learning environment.

Students are welcome to bring lunches from home, but any food ordered from outside will be held and given to students at the end of the day.

If you would like to have lunch with your child you are allowed to bring outside food. We simply ask that you call the school in advance and let us know which day and lunch period you will be having lunch with your child. Once we have this information we will reserve a location for you and your child to have lunch.

WMS is launching a PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) this fall! Our mission is to strengthen the connection between West staff and our community by:

• Creating meaningful volunteer opportunities for families

  Organizing engaging fundraising events

  Fostering greater involvement and collaboration
